Maintaining the driving records of all Massachusetts residents with a driver’s license is the responsibility of Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV). The following information is included in your Massachusetts driving record:
- Personal information such as name, DOB, and driver’s license number
- Traffic accidents
- Driver’s license suspensions
- Past violations
- (If applicable) out of state driving history
- DUI records
You can obtain two types of driving records from the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. The two types of Massachusetts Driving Records Request you can make include:
- Unattested driving records
- True and attested driving records
The unattested driving records are non-certified driving records whereas true and attested driving records are records certified by Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. You can make Massachusetts Driving Records Request in four different ways including online, by mail, in-person and by phone. Additionally, you can obtain a copy of your driving record through online public databases.
To make a Massachusetts Driving Records Request over the phone, call (857) 368-8000 and have your debit/credit card with you. You can request your driving record online by:
- Visiting the Maryland RMV website
- Providing your name, DOB, driver’s license number and social security number (SSN)
- Paying $ 20 fee for true and attested driving records or $ 6 for unattested driving records
If you want to make an in-person request for your driving record, you’ll need to:
- Fill out and submit Request for personal information in RMV Records form
- Provide a copy of your driver’s license
- Make the relevant payment
Finally, if you want to make Massachusetts Driving Records Request by mail you’ll need to:
- Fill out and mail Request for personal information in RMV Records form along with a copy of your driver’s license to: Registry of Motor Vehicles
